The artist DESIGNER Pablo Reinoso
Pablo Reinoso is a Franco-Argentinian artist designer born in 1955 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
He has been living in Paris since 1978. Thanks to his grandfather, keen on DIY, he discovered from an early age a passion for creation and more particularly for cabinetmaking.
Thus, he creates small objects from the age of 6 and amazes those around him with his first sculpture at the age of 13.
After studying architecture in Argentina, he studied marble sculpture in Italy in Carrara, the emblematic city of the discipline.
Then, when he arrived in France at the end of the 1970s, he opened his workshop where he deepened his woodworking technique while exploring new creative horizons.
His work, now recognized by the general public, is halfway between contemporary art and furniture design.

On the border between furniture and sculpture
Since the 1970s, the artist has developed a protean body of work correlated with his exploration of matter.
His multi-disciplinary work of different mediums allows him to apprehend the material to extract new plastic and conceptual possibilities.
Very attached to working with wood, he has also turned to metal for a few years to explore other creative universes.
He offers us a very sculptural and totally surreal vision of furniture…

Vegetable-shaped furniture
The artist is best known to the general public for his series of Spaghetti Benches. Among his notorious works, we should also mention his Garabatos series in metal or his reinterpretations of the Thonet Chair No. 14, the classic and timeless "Bistrot chair".
The Spaghetti Benches were revealed to the general public in 2017, as part of the FIAC event, the International Contemporary Art Fair. The wooden slats making up the seat seem to come to life and branch out in space, forming more or less sinuous arabesques. This gives this furniture a vegetal and sprawling appearance, like the exuberant proliferation of climbing plants.
Each work is original. Some commissioned pieces can even marry the architecture of the site, seeming to be one with the place.

After freeing wood from its shackles of material in the strict sense, Pablo tackles metalwork with his Garabatos series. He reproduces the woody scrolls of his first works by adapting them to the constraints of rigidity and linearity of the industrial world.
For this, he uses as raw material steel beams usually used in the field of construction to erect structures.
His work is unanimously recognized and one of these metallic creations now adorns the south terrace of the Élysée Palace.

A committed artist
Sensitive to the ecological issues of our time, Pablo explores in his recent works the fragile balance between the human ecosystem and nature.
His expanding monumental installations notably raise the question of the place of nature in our urban environments.
Ivy of steel or wood, his iconic creations are also a constant reminder of nature, an ode to the intelligence of plant preservation.

The artist has arranged many public spaces in France over the past 20 years.
- 2021: The Bancs Extraordinaires in Fontaine-le-Comte. The Banc Hortensia at the Parc de l'Arboretum in Angers.
- 2018: Realization of Pause Lapin, in collaboration with Florence de Ponthaud, at the Musée de Cluny in Paris.
- 2017: The Lignes de Vie work in the maternity ward of the Clinique Rhéna in Strasbourg.
- 2016: The Racines de France sculpture at the Élysée Palace in Paris.
- 2015: The Banc d'amarrage and Twin Bench, Polygone Riviera, Cannes.
