Charlène, Sales Manager. Getting to know a company better means understanding how it works, but it also means knowing the women and men who make it up. We therefore felt it was a good idea to introduce you to the Camerus employees. They contribute to the identity of who we are as a partner for your events.
Hello Charlene, what is your position at Camerus?
I am a sales manager. My main mission is business development, the search for new projects, new customers and their loyalty. I also participate in the choice of our ranges of furniture.
What do you think are the qualities of a good salesperson?
A good sense of listening is essential in order to be able to best determine the needs of your client. The ability to adapt is also very important because it promotes teamwork in particular. Finally, know your product well in order to be able to offer a suitable offer, while taking into account the technical and commercial constraints related to its offer.
How long have you been working at Camerus?
It’s been 5 years.
How did you get into the company?
I was in place but open to job market opportunities. Indeed, I felt the need to question myself by facing new professional challenges. Having more autonomy in my work was also very important.
I therefore consulted the emploi événementiel website, which lists all the job offers related to the event industry. Through this, I successfully applied to a job offer posted by Camerus… And it has been 5 years now that I have flourished in my work.
What do you like most about your job?
What I love most about my job is the human aspect. This is clearly one of my soft skills. An SME on a human scale allows you to touch everything and work with all employees whether they are in the sales administration department or in the technical department. To be able to interact with my hierarchy, my colleagues, my clients or potential clients … all those who lead to the success of a project.
I have had the chance to meet people who have brought me a lot in human terms, whether within my company or among certain clients. We meet a lot of people. An event is often the result of a lot of teamwork.
… And I add to love the adrenaline rush that you get when you land a project. I also had the opportunity to travel through France but also in some neighboring countries (Belgium, Italy, Germany) to support our clients on their projects. Personally, I like to travel a lot, so it’s a pleasure for me to make these trips.
And the least?
What I like least is obviously losing a project.
Do you have a quote or a saying (which is close to your heart) related to work or not, to share with us?
With this very special year, I had fears about my future because the events sector suffered enormously from the Covid crisis. But we are still there and continue to prepare for the recovery so my little sentence will be: "the best is yet to come".
