The Sial Show Turns 60

Who could have imagined that a small Parisian trade fair, created in 1964, would become the global food meeting?
The SIAL (International Food Show) is a major event in the agri-food industry, which brings together professionals from around the world to discover the latest innovations, trends and opportunities in this sector.

1964: The first show is held at the CNIT and brings together 942 exhibitors (including 340 international) in 27 pavilions. The CNIT hosted the two following editions of SIAL Paris until 1968.

1970: Faced with the rapid growth of the French food biennial, a move was necessary to the Parc des Expositions at Porte de Versailles.

1986: SIAL Paris leaves the Porte de Versailles Exhibition Center, considered too cramped, and moves to Paris-Nord Villepinte, where it extends over 5 halls covering 80,000 m².
88,000 professionals gather to discover more than 4,000 exhibitors and their innovations. The international reputation of the show is now firmly established. The addition of a new hall will double the exhibition space. It was also at this time that the SIAL Network was born, a global network of trade fairs dedicated to the agri-food industry.

1996: SIAL Paris launches Sial innovation, the agri-food innovation competition, which has become an essential event to highlight new products.

2014: SIAL Paris celebrates its 50th anniversary. On this occasion, the show is inaugurating SIAL Off, an exclusive offer in 50 unique, innovative and original Parisian locations.
A true guide to the best restaurants and atypical places in the capital, SIAL Off offers a selection of the most gourmet and festive addresses in Paris.

2024: SIAL Paris celebrates its 60th anniversary.
